What Type of Confetti Do I Need for My Wedding Day?

YouTube video

Now, if you’re new here, my name’s James, and I’m a wedding photographer based in Kent, near London in England. I thought I’d make a YouTube channel to guide you through your wedding planning process with tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way as a wedding photographer.

There are various types of confetti. You can get tissue paper, biodegradable petals, and things like that, but there are a few things you should probably think about.

Does Your Venue Allow Confetti?

First of all, does your venue allow confetti? There are quite a few venues that won’t allow confetti, even biodegradable confetti. So, the first step is to check in with your wedding venue. Some venues actually supply confetti, which I think is a great option because then you don’t have to worry about it.

The Weather Matters

Next, think about the weather. You might be expecting me to talk about rain (this is England, after all!), but I’m actually talking about heat.

If it’s really hot, and you’re sweating, getting pelted in the face with dried flower petals can be a bit uncomfortable. Dried petals tend to break into really small pieces, sticking to your face, hair, and clothes for the rest of the day.

Alternatively, fresh flower petals can be a nice option. They don’t disintegrate as easily, but you’ll need quite a lot of them to create the same effect.

Best Confetti for Stunning Photos

Biodegradable tissue paper confetti is my personal recommendation. It floats beautifully in the air, giving you that dreamy confetti shot. Plus, you don’t need as much of it compared to dried flower petals, which tend to fall quickly without much glide.

So, these are just a few things to think about when choosing your wedding confetti. I hope this helps you make the best choice for a fun, memorable, and photogenic confetti moment on your big day!

Let’s create something beautiful together

I can’t wait to hear all about the two of you and what you have planned for your special day.

It would be such an honour to document your love story.
