I don’t do as many engagement shoots as I’d love to, that said I don’t think I makew people aware enough that I love them!…..But when an awesome bride & groom to be such as Sophie and Chris are up for meeting me before their Summer wedding, I jump at the chance!

Locations vary for engagement shoots but this couple chose Perry woods in Kent which is quite special to them, they walk there at least a few times a week and it’s close to hearts so that’s a good enough location for me.

We start off by having a walk through the forest. What usually happens on engagement shoots like these is that we have a walk and a conversation about their wedding day, usually I take this time to really get to know the couple and that makes them feel a lot more comfortable with the camera. I never really like to get too close up and I don’t really love posing. Maybe I’ll see a really nice composition and then just ask a couple to stop and look at me or maybe even look at each other but I would never ask can you please put your hand in a certain way and things because of I want honest photos to create a nice memory of the shoot and I want to see what they do naturally and work with it
